Stuck by You

This kind of stuck is usually quieter than people expect. It often sounds like:

“Maybe this just is not really me.”. Or,

“People like me do not usually do things like this.”

Which means the problem is not always ability.

Sometimes it is the relationship between the thing you want and the version of yourself you currently believe yourself to be. That can create a strange kind of tension where part of you wants movement while another part quietly resists what movement might mean.

Especially if succeeding would require seeing yourself differently afterwards.

Most people try to solve this through confidence. But confidence is often unstable when identity is the deeper issue.

A more useful question is sometimes: “What version of me does this seem to require?”

Because the answer can reveal a lot about what is actually making this feel difficult.

Below are some articles that may help you understand this kind of stuck a little better.
